Day 21: Basel with Anni

10.13.21

This morning, me and Anni took the tandem bike to the train station. We rode the train to a small Souther German town called Harlingen. We had some coffees and pastries. We then rode the tandem to Vitra Design museum. It is one of Anni’s favorite museums, and it is super cool! There were lots of cool chairs and furniture, it was basically like a super fancy, futuristic ikea.

Outside of the museum we found a giant slide. I have not been on a slide in so long and it was so much fun! Even though it was just me and Anni surrounded by a bunch of little kids.

After Vitra we biked across the border to Switzerland. I did not know you could just bike into another country, but it was super easy. We went to a town called Basel and it was very cute. We walked around a lot of shops and ate some ice cream by a canal. The sun began setting so we biked to the train station and arrived back in Freiburg.

We made pumpkin soup for dinner- it was very good and I got the recipe so maybe I will make it back at home! After dinner, we were both pretty tired so we called it a night.
