Today was the official first day of the volunteer program. In the morning, we had a presentation on the program and were told things to do in Lisbon. This took about two hours. Then we had lunch in the hostel. This hostel provides three meals a day, all traditional Portuguese food and it is so delicious! It feels so warm and homemade, the chefs are very good.

After lunch, we took a bus to get the famous egg tart pastry of Lisbon, a Nata, and it was very good. It was like a puff pastry with a custard in the middle.

We all grouped up in the hostel and went on a Tuk Tuk tour of Lisbon. The Tuk Tuks were so much fun but kind of like a rollercoaster. We went to the highest point in Lisbon and got an amazing view of the city. Then me and some other volunteers walked around the city center more and did some shopping. We had a snack at this cool waffle place (I just got some fruit and yogurt).

We took the bus back to the hostel and had dinner, mine was a veggie lasagna with quinoa.

I was exhausted and had an early night, falling asleep around 10:30 I think.
