As soon as I got to Portugal, I knew I had to try surfing at least once. So today, me and a volunteer named Aneesha signed up for a 2 hour surfing class and took the train to Carcavelos beach.

I had a lot of fun!! I fell so much and it was so difficult but I was able to stand a couple times on the board which felt so good! Surfing is definitely something I want to try again. We were both so worn out after the lesson, we sat in a cafe and warmed up with coffee and fries. Then, before leaving we got some amazing açaí bowls.

I quickly stopped at the hostel to shower before going to my volunteer placement where me and Maja ended up staying for 5 hours because the next shift volunteers couldn’t make it. We had to haul a huge cart full of groceries across the city which was so difficult, but I’m glad we could be a help!

We had dinner at the hostel and had our traditional cards, chocolate, and wine night. I was so exhausted by the end of the day.
