Day 11: Last Day of Amsterdam Sightseeing

10.3.21

This morning I said goodbye to Joana- the past of the good friends I had made in Amsterdam. I am certain, though, that I will visit her in France towards the end of my travels.

It was a very rainy day all day and my mood matched. I had a slow morning but decided to take the ferry to the STRAAT museum. It was a street art museum inside a huge warehouse. It was very cool and each art piece was so different from the last. I loved seeing all the details and stories artists are able to pull off with mainly just spray paint and stencil.

The flea market (largest in Europe!) was right next door. It was huge and very chaotic. Mostly vintage clothes vendors which I would have loved back home but not as much here, just because I can’t afford the space in my bag to bring home clothes! I did buy some earrings.

On the way home, I got caught in an anti-Covid regulations protest!

The rain got worse throughout the day. I’ve decided to have one nice meal on the last day of every city I visit. So, to compliment the weather, I got some ramen from Ramen-Ya Amsterdam.

I then made my way back the the hostel to pack and shower. I ventured out one last time to get one more stroopwafel. The rain cleared up and there was a beautiful sunset, perfect for my last night.

Went to bed early for an early train tomorrow!

  1. You are doing a great job of documenting your adventure. Maybe a future in writing? You describe things in a great way. Just think, a few post ago you made friends with the hostel cat. Look at you now!
