This morning I woke up at 4 am after a pretty restful nights sleep. I packed up my bag and some food and headed to the train station. I got on a 6 am train to Jezero and then a 20 minute bus to Lake Bled. It was very beautiful. I hiked down to the city center and got a coffee and an oatmeal cookie
Then I went ziplining! It had 7 zip lines and lasted two hours, apparently the longest zip line route in all of Europe! Even though it was pretty cold, the views were incredible and the experience was so much fun.

After this, I walked around some of the shops in the small town surrounding the lake. I bought a Keenan Retina which is supposedly a necessity if you’re visiting lake bled. It has puff pastry, custard cream, and whipped cream. I saved it for later.
I then boarded a wooden boat and a guide rowed it to the island in the middle of Lake Bled. The views were absolutely incredible from the ride and the water was so clear! I explored the little island and got (another) coffee and a pretty tasty ham and cheese pastry.
We then rowed back to the shore and I hiked up to the Bled Castle!
The hike was pretty hard and there were a lot of steps but the view was totally worth it. After walking around the castle and taking many pictures, I hiked back down and walked back to the train station to get my bus.
I assumed I was taking a bus back to the Jezero train station since that is what I took in the morning and what the driver told me. So, I waited outside the train station at the bus stop in the cold (since the train station waiting room was locked). I thought that the trains weren’t running so that’s why I was taking a bus. When 5 minutes passed the supposed arrival time and the bus wasn’t there, I got a little worried. Then, I saw a train pull up to the opposite side of the station. I frantically tried to get across but the lobby was still locked so I ran through a restaurant and got to the platform right as the train began driving away- I missed it!
At this moment, I got very stressed and nervous about getting back because the next train to get me to Ljubljana wouldn’t be until about 5am the next morning. After calling my dad (thanks) for help, I was able to calm down and I walked 15 minutes to a random bus station and waiting for a bus which took me to another train station where I then took a train and got to Ljubljana safely and in one piece. I coped with the stress by eating my Kremma Rezina at the bus stop! It was a very nerve racking experience, a lot of waiting at bus stops and train stations in the cold, and even another uncomfortable encounter by a drunk old man!, but it all worked out and I got to my hostel around 9.

Overall, it was a great day. The beautiful views made up for the cold and the struggle to get home. It was also so nice to get out of the big city for a day, the fresh air was so nice and my sickness is almost completely gone!

I’m glad you are feeling better! You got through another moment of panic. Those are difficult, but they are good learning experiences. It’s nice taking a breath after them, and apparently eating a treat. The zip line sounds exciting. I’m so glad you are taking in a lot of new things. You seem to be filling just about all of your days.
